Overview

Recovering a failing communications programme through rapid diagnosis, targeted redesign and accelerated delivery.

Define the Problem

A newly developed communications system had reached formal compliance testing but was repeatedly failing, placing deployment timelines and programme objectives at risk.

The client required a rapid recovery strategy capable of resolving the underlying issues without restarting the programme.

Diagnose the Root Cause

A detailed technical assessment identified multiple design weaknesses affecting system-level compliance performance. These issues extended beyond isolated component changes and required coordinated engineering improvements across multiple areas.

Key challenges included:

  • Identifying root causes within a partially complete design

  • Maintaining functionality during redesign

  • Resolving compliance risks rapidly

  • Delivering under aggressive programme timescales

Deliver the Solution

We executed a focused redesign strategy targeting the highest-impact technical risks while preserving the core architecture wherever possible.

Changes were implemented across power systems, grounding, integration and compliance-sensitive areas, allowing improvements to be delivered efficiently without unnecessary redesign.

Through a tightly managed development cycle, a pre-production unit was delivered within twelve weeks ready for further compliance testing.

Key Outcomes

  • Pre-production system delivered within 16 weeks

  • Recovery of programme schedule without restarting development

  • Minimal modifications required after first build

  • Accelerated route towards compliance and deployment
