Define the Problem

Electronics deployed in vehicle environments experienced intermittent failures and damage due to electrical transients and supply disturbances.

Diagnose the Root Cause

Analysis showed the existing power input stage lacked sufficient protection against surge events, reverse polarity conditions and automotive load-dump transients.

Key engineering challenges included:

  • Harsh vehicle electrical environments

  • High-energy transient events

  • Long-term reliability requirements

  • Limited enclosure and PCB space

Deliver the Solution

We redesigned the power input architecture to include surge suppression, reverse polarity protection and filtering mechanisms capable of handling extreme electrical conditions.

Key Outcomes

  • Improved long-term reliability

  • Protection against load-dump events

  • Reduced field failures

  • Increased product robustness
